LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The votes are in, and Vicki Burch will represent District 4 on the Tippecanoe County Council.

Burch replaces Sally Siegrist, who was just elected state representative for District 26.

Tippecanoe County Republicans held a caucus Tuesday night to fill the vacancy left by Siegrist. Burch was up against Tom Andrew and Troy Janes.

Burch previously served on the West Lafayette City Council. She said she’s ready to take on budgeting for the county.

“Having the folks justify their expenditures and making sure, with that, we account for every dollar spent,” Burch said. “Our citizens have the right to transparency to where their tax dollars go.”

Burch was sworn in Tuesday night.

As News 18 has reported, Sally Siegrist will replace Randy Truitt who is retiring from his seat at the Indiana Statehouse.
