LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Police say a semi driver was cited after he overturned his semi which caused grain to spill from his trailer on Veterans Memorial Parkway in Lafayette Thursday morning.
Lafayette Police Officer Scott Swick tells News 18 a driver of a semitrailer, owned by Ruff Family Farms out of Winamac, Indiana, tried to turn south on Veterans Memorial Parkway just before 9 a.m. But the driver was going too fast and overturned, causing the grain to spill from the trailer.
No injuries were reported.
Veterans Memorial Parkway, between State Road 38 and County Road 460, was closed for about an hour-and-a-half while crews cleaned up. Lafayette police and state police were on scene directing traffic.
Swick said the driver was cited for driving too fast in improper conditions.
